When a major steel producer required a new zinc treatment plant to meet NPDES permitting requirements, EQ Engineers was tasked for the project. The new water treatment system was required to filter zinc from process water circulated from a blast furnace before discharge. EQE performed a total plant layout including foundation, building, tank and piping design, as well as complete mechanical and electrical layouts.
